The Bemidji 31 Education Foundation Fund was revamped and renamed in 2019. In the early 2000’s the Bemidji School District brought the Lumberjack Foundation to Northwest Minnesota Foundation (NMF) to manage its funds.
As a regional community foundation, NMF’s mission is to promote philanthropy. NMF has more than 450 funds in its family of funds operating under its nonprofit status; and all funds are making the region a better place.
Bemidji 31 Education Foundation Fund’s purpose is to enhance the educational opportunities of the students, staff, educational programs and institutions of ISD #31.
There has been significant growth in the fund’s assets over the years – thanks to community members who want to enhance education opportunities in Bemidji. Please consider a gift (donate now) to better serve the students and faculty of ISD #31! YOU make a difference in and out of the classroom.
The Bemidji 31 Education Foundation Fund is a fund in the family of funds at the Northwest Minnesota Foundation which supports the mission of providing classroom resources to local educators. The Northwest Minnesota Foundation is a public, charitable foundation serving 2 tribal nations and 12 counties in Northwest Minnesota by investing resources, facilitating collaboration and promoting philanthropy. I have young students who did not like reading or who struggled to read gain confidence in themselves. The activities on Starfall are short, which supports shorter attention spans of 5-9 year olds. Shorter activities allowed students to do more of them in a technology class setting. They saw their own progress and success.
The Bemidji 31 Education Foundation gave us the funds to work on a large-scale community project. The project was about what it means to be a part of a community, so students took time to think about what community is, how it affects their life, and also thought about what role art plays in a community.
We have ordered all of our cool calming tools for our students! They will be ready for use the last few weeks of school and ready as our students enter the buildings next Fall. We are all so appreciative as these little tools can make a big impact!
